Ep. 27- Coffee Talk with Tony and Laura: Discipline

In this series, a lot of fun and random topics were discussed on the spot. Ranging from Dating to Technology, we just give our little "two cents" on how those particular areas of parenting should be handled.

Laura and I discuss the importance of discipline within the home. Many parents simply discipline their kids the way they were disciplined as children regardless of that being good or bad. What does it look like to discipline your kids in a godly way? With a deep conversation and some resources below, we hope you find some answers to disciplining your youngster.

The Power of an Apology

When a person wrongs somebody, there is now a barrier between them and that person, hindering the relationship. An authentic apology breaks down that barrier and restores that relationship. Apologies should be filled with gentleness, humility and grace.

Teach your children these three components:

Gentleness: Approach the person gently with calmness in their heart.

Humility: Confessing you have wronged that person and are asking for forgiveness

Grace: Recognize that God offers much more grace than any person can offer and that if forgiveness is received, a vertical (Person-to-God) and Horizontal (Person-to-Person) relationship is restored
